An innovative partnership with Western Farmers Electric Cooperative, Choctaw Electric Cooperative and Precise Building Performance will make it more affordable for co-op members to make their homes more energy efficient. As your electric cooperative this is one of the ways we are here to serve you.
A home energy efficiency expert from Precise Building Performance conducts a whole-home energy audit. The audit tests your homes ability to seal in heat and air, checks for potential duct leakage and ensures an adequate amount of attic insulation.
Members will receive a detailed report on site along with projected retrofit costs and return-on-investment of the project. Members may choose to do nothing, or they may select improvements based on their budget.
Those who choose to make upgrades will receive a rebate of $1 per watt of estimated savings with a maximum rebate of $1,000. Rebates are applied to the cost of the project. All the work is performed by a licensed professional contractor.
There is special financing available for CEC members who choose the retrofit upgrades.
The Home Energy Efficiency Program is available to residential members living in single-family homes. However, members living in mobile homes are welcome to contact our Energy Specialist, Brad Kendrick, to receive helpful resources including specific ways to cut energy costs.
Members may visit www.oknm.coop, fill out some basic information including your CEC account number and select CEC from the list of co-ops. A member from Precise Building Performance will contact you to schedule your audit in May or June.
Members may also find do-it-yourself projects at www.oknm.coop, as well as a link to Precise Building Performance’s list of resources.
