Position Summary:
The Right of Way Laborer provides timely, efficient, and reliable service by reducing timber related outages and losses in accordance with Cooperative policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• To provide members with adequate and quality electric service at the lowest possible cost consistent with good service and sound business practice, the objectives in this position are to clear right of ways and reduce interruptions to service areas.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• To prevent timber related liability losses and claims to the Cooperative.
• Report any deficiency observed on the line.
• Assist maintenance and constructions crews when required.
• Respond to consumers as needed.
• Responsible for all vehicles, tools, and equipment issued.
• Identify new ways to become more efficient.
• Maintain and cultivate good employee relations by being courteous and helpful to all employees.
• Must be flexible to adjust to constantly changing schedules and demands. Overtime on nights, weekends, and holidays may be necessary.
• Other duties as requested by the Supervisor of Maintenance.
Qualifications:
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Electric cooperative experience is desired. Working experience in the forestry and land environmental management industries is desired. A working knowledge of legal land descriptions and surveys. Use of cartography, topography, and hydrology in daily work. Knowledge of the commercial application and use of chemical herbicides.
• Must hold a valid commercial driver’s license.
• Must be able to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
• Maintains thorough working knowledge of Cooperative Bylaws, policies, procedures, and safety manual.
• Must be able to attend periodic seminars and training programs.
Physical Demands:
• Frequently lifts materials from 10 to 50 pounds. Frequent standing, walking, bending, and stooping. Must have the ability to perform the outside duties of this position during extreme adverse weather conditions (temperatures above 90 and below 30 degrees F, rain, snow, high humidity, etc.), in the presence of pollens, dust, and other airborne particles. Must be able to avoid and/or endure insect stings and other hazards while executing assigned duties. Position requires contact work and irregular hours.
Normal work environment is outdoors.

Position Summary
The Right of Way Equipment Operator provides timely, efficient, and reliable service by ensuring all right of way clearing and maintenance work is performed in accordance with RUS specifications and Cooperative policies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
• In order to provide members with adequate and quality electric service at the lowest possible cost consistent with good service and sound business practice, the objectives in this position are to assist with work orders which includes clearing and maintaining right of way to reduce interruptions to service areas.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Assist with small work orders when required.
• Patrol and repair or report any deficiency observed on the line.
• Assist maintenance and constructions crews when required.
• Respond to consumers as needed.
• Responsible for all vehicles, tools, and equipment issued.
• Identify new ways to become more efficient.
• Maintain and cultivate good employee relations by being courteous and helpful to all employees.
• Must be flexible to adjust to constantly changing schedules and demands. Overtime on nights, weekends, and holidays may be necessary.
• Other duties as requested by the Supervisor of Maintenance
Normal Work Schedule M-F 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

• Must be able to attend periodic seminars and training programs.
